DXLab commander is rejecting the tranceiver command at startup

Hello,

i am a newbie. I try to install and run IRB for the very first time and i have the following issue with
DXLab Commander.

Each time i start the irbhost there are several popup windows reporting that the DXLab commander is
rejecting the tranceiver command.

Many thanks in adavance for you help

setting startup frequency

Hi Bob,

thank you very much for your reply. I was on a buisness trip, that why i am replying so late.

I have already installed the version you mentioned. At startup the host trys to set the frequency to 300kHz, although the frequency in the ini file is set to 14.300 Mhz. Setting the frequency to 10 Mhz does not change the behavior. After closing all the popups the frequency is set to the value in the ini file. The radio i am using is an Icom 7400. So i think i have to wait for a fix. Thank you very much for your support.

rejecting transceiver frequency at startup

Maybe a temporary fix -

Try these steps:

Use the DXLabs Launcher to install the Commander software on your computer. Accept the defaults so it installs in the right place.

Download the 6.003.001 version of the host software from the downloads link and install it as descrbed in the read-first.txt file.

If you still get the pop-ups it is because the Commander software is complaining bout the frequency that is being sent to the radio on initialization. I'm still trying to find where in the source code the frequency is defined when the IRBHost software tries to talk to the Commander software. If you set the default frequency in the ini file to 10 Mhz the IRB software will eventually try to command the Commander software with the default frequency and the messages will go away.

As soon as I can find and patch the bug I'll post a new version of the IRBHost exe file.

The bug seems to show up with some radios under Commander and not others. At least this is whet I think is happening at the moment. Continued examiniation of the source code for IRBHost might turn up something else though.

Its not Commander that's unhappy....

The radio is rejecting a "set frequency" command, probably because you're attempting to QSY to a frequency not supported by the radio.

Version 6003002

Hi Bob,

i just tested the new version. Now after starting the Host the frequency is set to 30 Mhz and after about 60 seconds it is set to the value in the ini file.

Thanks a lot for your help

Just saw this post

I assume that my fix did make the pop-ups go away then? Things seem to now be working as they should because that's what the program's code says should happen.

DXLab Commander pop-ups

I'm not certain at this point what to do about the pop-ups of you are still getting them. I can't duplicate the problem here to be able to come up with a fix for it.

The frequency in the ini file is set on the radio when there is no activity for a short period of time. It won't be set immeditely at start-up, only after a short delay

Have you tried the 6.003.002 version? I specifically tried a fix for this problem in that version. I suspect that the Commander software doesn't like the initialization frequencies when that particular radio is selected so I altered the init frequencies a bit.

what radio are you using? Is

what radio are you using?

Is Commander set up and working on its own with the radio?

Rob Ve6ccl

i am using an Icom 7400. Commander is working fine so far.
